Tenuta Casanova is 20 hectares of vineyard and farm in the heart of a cypress forest, located between Poggibonsi and Castellina in Chianti, in Tuscany.
The first farming settlement dates back a thousand years. It was not until the beginning of the 1800’s, in a time of agricultural poverty, that Abbot Sprugnoli, a religious but very talented alchemist, gave birth to the splendid Casanova farm.
The abbot refined the land’s production (wines, oils and vin santo), with rich aromas of the countryside, and destined it to the congregations and monasteries of the local towns. He also kept a medieval recipe for wine making very well hidden from his brethrens: due to its inebriating powers, it was not made for men of pure spirit!
We are a small reality but with grand desires to see this business live. Our goal is to keep producing with our children goods of high quality and class. Casanova Farm is famous for the wine and a Wine Tour is a good opportunity to taste the Chianti Classico, Super Tuscan or ‘Easy to Fall in Love’.
