Enjoy gourmet Cooking classes and lessons in Tuscany, provided from Tenuta Casanova, where you’ll learn to cook the typical Chianti dishes just having a fun!
Our Cooking Classes last on average 6- 7½ hours and you will have hands on experience
at every stage so that you gain a real understanding of the processes and will be able to reproduce the dishes with confidence at home. The Cooking Classes, presented by Rita, introduces the client to the most antique and traditional Tuscan recipes, and much more.
The house’s specialty is the famous fresh pasta: pappardelle, tagliatelle or tagliolini or the typical ravioli of Maremma, stuffed with fresh ricotta and herbs, as well as potato gnocchi seasoned with traditional sauces. Visitors also get to prepare special breads, in addition to pizzas and ciaccini (a very special kind of bread pasta), grilled vegetables (Peppers, Zucchini or Eggplants) marinated in our 8-year-old Balsamic Vinegar: all this will be tasted together with different varieties of honey, pecorino and cinta senese, salami, accompanied by excellent Chianti Classico wine.
The cooking class continues with the main courses: meat dishes, vegetable pies and various flans. And then the delicious fruit tarts (crostate), grandmother’s traditional cookies, gelato, and Rita’s famous tiramisu. Finally, the 30 year old balsamic vinegars of Acetaia, are splashed over a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a unique tasting experience.
Cooking Classes are for a maximum of 8 people.
All courses include the tasting of 5 wines including: Easy to Fall in Love, a “Tuscan Champagne” produced with Chardonnay and Malvasia – the grape having the flavor and scent of wild strawberries; Chianti Classico – aged over 3 or 4 years, we bottle only a limited final product annually; Super Tuscan our Meditation wines are from a limited production of the highest quality, we restrict to only 450 – 500 annually. This wine will have been aged for 5 years in small oak casks.
You will also have the chance to try our 30-year-old Balsamic Vinegar over ice-cream, a unique and memorable experience! A 3 decades old balsamic vinegars of Acetaia, are splashed over a scoop of ice cream for a unique tasting experience.
We also include a visit to our Cantina where you will gain an understanding of the rare and limited production process for our Balsamic Vinegar, using small casks which are open to allow for natural evaporation, see the impressive Super Tuscan wine cellar.
Rita and Silvano, also, offer the chance to do cooking classes everywhere in the world, with the wonderful products of the Tenuta Casanova and the typical products of Tuscan tradition.
